Each year we post the best pictures of the flowers from our seedling patch. Many of the
best of the seedlings did not get a good photo.  I have noted whether each one is the result
of a hand cross by Margaret or the result of a random bee pollinated flower. It should be
mentioned that many of these flowers will never be released for various reasons.  We will
grow the ones that survive storage for another season and will re-evaluate them and will
keep only the best for yet another year of evaluation.   After about 3 years of evaluation, we
will sell them.

This BB(B?) IC Dark Blend was as nice as any of the 2009 seedlings. It is a hand crossed seedling of two incurved cactus dahlias.
By the way one of the parents was a bright yellow and the other a dark pink. Note that this one got both colors.
BB SC Red with very precise form. Seedling of our new introduction
for 2010, Rose Red. Bee crossed.
BB ID yellow.
Seedling of our Suzanne;
bee crossed. Deep form.
Cute little MB
lavender seedling of
Odyssey; bee crossed
We had about five nice waterlily seedlings. The pictures of the others were not
very good but this one was. Bee crossed seedling of a 2007 seedling. Has some
Taratahi Sunrise in it's pedigree.
Very nice novelty seedling of an "A" sized dahlia. Flower is about 8 inches in diameter
and is a nice shade of pink with very interesting slightly lighter pink petaloids.
Shogun produced a very nice "AA" sized incurved cactus seedling. Took it to
our club meeting for "show and tell"  and got some nice comments.  Bee
crossed.
Two pictures of M FD white.  Form
purists say that formal decorative
flowers should have petals that lay flat
as they reflex to the stem. This one
certainly does that. It does it so much
that I wonder if it will win. Very tough
class and Ryecroft Jan and Ryecroft
Dave's Choice are tough to beat even if
they are "semi-decs" as they call them in
Australia. Somehow,  this one should be
imported into Australia if it continues to
look good. Bee crossed seedling of
Odyssey.
From the Portland show: I want to see more of Mike Riordon's seedling and he also had a nice
triple entry of it in the show. Our first year seedling is somewhat low on form but has the
lavender blue color that is the same as the almost "blue" dahlias such as Worton Blue Streak.
This Novelty is a
seedling of Kenora
Clyde. It is 8 inches
in diameter. I
almost threw it
away but then
noticed that open
center was all
anenome tubes. I
do not know where
tubes came from
as we do not grow
anenomes.
Nice BB Cactus in
Orange or Flame or Dark
Blend. Seedling of
Suzanne by a bee cross.
Forgot to mark what one this was. Nice picture.
Margaret really liked the  colors on this B sized ID.
Another picture of the first one above. This one shows more depth that comes
when the flower ripens. Picture below is one of the other flowers that came from the
same seed pod. We had about 5 seedlings from the cross and we marked 3 to
keep. This one was a bit more yellow than what shows in picture. May be "A" sized
and is also incurved cactus. This shows that you do get some consistency when
you hand cross flowers of the same type. Both parents were incurved cactus.
